Pape/Danforth Library & Dolce Gelato: In The Heart of Greektown

Updated: Nov 28, 2024

Pape/Danforth Library is a two-minute walk from Pape Station in Greektown.

Unfortunately, the elevator in Pape Station was down, so I walked from Chester Station which was a ten-minute walk.

Pape/Danforth Library opened in 1929, and it feels like a house. The kids section is on the first floor, and it was very spacious and accessible.

The bathroom is also on the first floor, and it doesn’t have an automatic button.

On the second floor, there is an adult section and a teens section.

Nobody wants to doodle

The problem with the second floor was the air conditioning was very bad. I went on a beautiful day. I got Merciless Saviors by H. E. Edgmon.

On the way to Dolce Gelato, I saw a church from 1915, called the Holy Name Church. I also saw a used bookstore that was not accessible.

Dolce Gelato is an eight-minute walk from Pape/Danforth Library and a two-minute walk from Chester Station. Dolce Gelato is an ice cream store and a cafe. The bathroom was up one step so it was not accessible.

There were so many flavours, and it was so hard to choose what to get.

I got blood orange sorbet and Earl Grey raspberry cheesecake. It was very good.

On the way out, I saw a funny sign.

Overall, my day in Greektown was amazing. Pape/Danforth Library and Dolce Gelato are both pretty accessible.
